playing BASS with JROCK bands

Postby Frequentflyer120 » Sat Mar 21, 2009 6:21 am

SOOO i've been learning how to play bass. it's pretty awesome once your fingers stop throbbing.. :) now all i need is material to actually play and practice with. what better than to turn to your favorite jrock band, ne? i'm currently LOVING U-TA from BUCK-TICK, and tetsu from L'Arc~en~Ciel. I know there are other REALLY awesome bassists out there... i'm just not as well versed. and i can't think very hard right now.

TO THE POINT: does anyone have bass tabs on some B-T's or Laruku's songs? I've found some things on a couple well-traffiked english sites... like bassmasta and ultimate guitar... what i'm hoping to find are tabs fans have (GRACIOUSLY) made for the rest of us...

i hope to get good enough to do this myself and share with the world... cause any b-t fan who plays bass or guitar for that matter have a BITCH of a time finding tabs, save for the few that were published in jrock magz. I just thought i'd shout out to all bassists that wanna join forces and figure out how to freakin play like these GODS! besides. it's the only way to keep having fun until i get good enough to write my own stuff... these songs are SICK and i wanna play 'em!

text files are the best option... but i did find a gp3 and gp4 fiels viewer. unfortunately it doesn't work with guitar pro 5. >:( For BUCK-TICK I'm hoping to figure out these songs: Dress, Misshitsu, Ijin no Yoru, Romance. And for L'Arc~en~Ciel, Stay Away, Ready Steady Go, And She Said, and eventually much more from both bands... shit anything from buck-tick's Six/Nine album or 13階は月光 would be awesome. u-ta really shines on those i think...

I'm willing to share the few tabs i did find...!! they're mostly laruku. hope people can help out and share!

I'm on a B-T cover band project (actually, tomorrow is our first rehearsal lol), and I'm also looking for bass tabs... sadly I haven't found any for B-T.
Romance is pretty easy to figure out though.

And I agree both Yutaka and Tetsu are great bassists
